How to broadcast a single monday.com board to multiple spreadsheets
Use case overview
With resynced.io, you can synchronize data from a single monday.com board into multiple Google Sheets spreadsheets. Using this setup, you can customize each sync to share only the relevant data.
Prepare your data
In monday.com
Organize your board with the relevant columns and data that must be broadcasted.
Decide if all data will be shared or only specific fields or items (e.g., limited data for certain use cases).
In Google Sheets
Create corresponding sheets where the data will be synchronized.
Connect your accounts
If you haven’t already, authorize your monday.com and Google Sheets accounts to connect them with resynced.io. For details, see the monday.com and Google Sheets integration pages.
Set up the synchronization
In resynced.io, select monday.com and Google Sheets as the apps to sync. Choose the workspace and board from monday.com and the spreadsheet and sheet from Google Sheets.
Match your data
In the “match by” section, select a field that contains unique values to match data between the apps. This is like a unique ID that helps the system know which items in monday.com correspond to the rows in Google Sheets. Every value in this field needs to be unique. If two items have the same value, synchronization will not run, but your data will not corrupt. The system will notify you and show you where the problem is.
Enable item creation or deletion
By default, item creation and deletion are turned off. You can enable resynced.io to:
· Create new items in one app when they are added to the other.
· Delete items in one app when they are removed from the other.
Map your fields
In the “Synchronize” section, match fields in monday.com with corresponding columns in Google Sheets.
For each Google Sheets file, create a separate synchronization in resynced.io:
Full Data Sync: Sync all columns and items to one spreadsheet for a comprehensive view.
Filtered Syncs: Create additional syncs to send selected columns or rows (fields or items) to specific spreadsheets.
Example: Send only specific fields (e.g., status and amount) to one spreadsheet and other fields to another.
How to sync specific items from monday.com to Google Sheets
First, identify the items you want to sync, such as 10 out of 100 items on your monday.com board. In Google Sheets, create a spreadsheet with column headers corresponding to the fields on your monday.com board.
In resynced.io, set up the synchronization by selecting a “match by” field.
Next, disable item creation and deletion in both directions. This step ensures that no new items will be added or removed in either monday.com or Google Sheets during synchronization. Then, set the sync direction to one-way (monday.com → Google Sheets) so data flows only from monday.com into Google Sheets. This prevents Google Sheets from making any changes to your monday.com board.
Manually copy the items you want to sync from your monday.com board into Google Sheets.
After configuring the sync settings, run the synchronization. The system will update only the items you manually added to Google Sheets and will not create new ones unless you manually add them to the sheet. Other items from your monday.com board will be ignored since they are not matched. If you need to sync additional items later, simply add them manually into Google Sheets. Once added, these new items will be automatically matched and updated during the next sync.
