How to synchronize FreshBooks with Google Sheets

Guide

Sync FreshBooks with Google Sheets to automate your financial reporting. Get your FreshBooks invoices, expenses, and clients to appear automatically in Google Sheets. No more downloading CSV files or copy-pasting.

Perfect for: Accountants, bookkeepers, and finance teams who want to create reports and share data without manual work.

What you'll get: Custom dashboards, up-to-date reports, and team collaboration - all in one spreadsheet that updates itself.

This guide shows you: How to connect both accounts in about 10 minutes using resynced.io. We'll cover logging in, choosing your data, and setting up automatic updates.

Prepare your data

Get your spreadsheet ready to receive FreshBooks data.

Three options:

Option 1 - Automatic column creation. resynced.io creates columns automatically for you by copying fields from your Freshbooks object.

Option 2 - Create your own columns manually. In row 1 of your sheet, add headers that match the Freshbooks fields you want to sync (e.g. Client Name, Invoice Number, Total Amount).

Option 3 - Add columns from resynced.io. While setting up your sync, create new columns directly in the interface and name them to match the fields you’re pulling from FreshBooks. Why this matters: Your data needs organized columns to land in, like having labeled folders ready.

Tip: Column names don't need to match exactly (like "Phone" in Notion and "Home Phone" in FreshBooks)

Connect your apps

Choose your apps: Select FreshBooks and Google Sheets

Sign in:

  • Click "Add new connection" for FreshBooks and log in
  • For Google Sheets, authorize your Google account and grant access to Google Drive and your spreadsheets.

Connect your data

Match your fields:

  • Let resynced.io auto-match fields with the same names
  • Or manually choose which FreshBooks data goes into which columns
  • If you need new columns, create them right in the sync tool

Start syncing: Click Save and Run

Important

Data only flows from FreshBooks to Google Sheets (not the other way around).
