How to synchronize Smartsheet with monday.com board
Learn how to easily sync data between monday.com and Smartsheet and keep your data up-to-date across both apps.
Enjoy two-way synchronization that makes it easy to collaborate with teams using different tools.
Customize your sync as needed: filter rows, select specific columns, and control the sync direction - one-way or two-way.
1. Prepare your data
Ensure both apps have the columns you want to sync. resynced.io does not automatically create columns, so you must manually set them up. The column names don't need to be identical between apps (for example, "Name" in the first app can be "Event Name" in the second), but you must map them correctly later.
Also, add necessary values for fields such as Select or Status. resynced.io does not automatically create these values, so ensure they are present in both databases.
2. Select platforms, connect accounts, and pick a source
In resynced.io, choose Smartsheet and monday.com as the apps to sync.
Connect your monday.com and Smartsheet accounts in resynced.io.
For monday.com, ensure you have installed the resynced.io app from the marketplace.
For Smartsheet, simply authorize your account and grant the requested permissions.
Next, pick your data source: a workspace and board in monday.com, a sheet in Smartsheet.
3. Filter the data you want to sync (optional)
By default, resynced.io syncs all items. You can add filters to sync only specific rows based on status, checkbox, text, or other criteria.
Choose a column to filter by, set a condition like "equals" or "does not equal," and enter a value.
Always match the values exactly as they appear in the source. Pay attention to capitalization. For example, if the status is "Done," filtering by "done" won't work as expected.
4. Configure sync behavior for new and deleted items
By default, item creation is enabled only for the left source. New items added in the left source will appear in the right source. You can change this setting to allow item creation in both directions. You can also enable item deletion for one or both apps.
5. Map fields, set sync direction, and start synchronization
Decide which columns in Smartsheet match which columns in monday.com. Map the corresponding fields between the two apps.
You can use auto-mapping to automatically match fields with the same names between apps, making setup even faster. If some fields don't match automatically, manual mapping is simple and quick.
You can also set the sync direction - one-way or two-way.
Click "Save and Run" to begin. Syncs run automatically every 10 minutes; you can also manually trigger a sync by clicking Sync Now.
